OT. Bad Eyedrops, Major Suppliers

I try to stay away from all the medicine I can. Over the counter and prescription.

Look at the ads on TV and the fine print where almost all of it can cause bad reactions and even lead to death.

I had colon cancer and about 2 inches removed last year at 72. Like a fool I let them talk me into the FOL-FOX chemo. The chemo went ok, but left my hands all messed up. Went from touch typing to using just 2 fingers. Not sure what to call it, but while my hands do not feel like they are greasy to others, they do to me and things slip out of my hands like I had grease on them. Now they look like hands do that have been in water for a while. The skin is all wrinkled up.

The side effects may not be permanent, but sofar they have lasted a year. The doctor has me on two drugs that is for the 'pain' of my hands. They are ones advertised on TV for people that have mental disorders. Old age will probable get me before more cancer would have.

Colon cancer does get a lot of people.

Australia now offers all 70-year-olds the faecal occult blood test - they send out the test, you run a test test strip over your s*it when it it is siting in the toilet bowl and post the tests strip back to them. If there is blood there you will get called in for a colonoscopy - getting prepared for it is a bit of a performance, but it is an outpatient procedure though they do knock you out for it. I've had it done twice and they pulled out a polyp each time - polyps sometimes develop into colon cancers, so I'm very glad they did.

But a great deal better than not getting tested at all.

I tend to stay away from things advertised on TV. They allow things like the super beats and the fruits and vegitable pills that make a 70 year old perform like a 20 year old sports pro if you listen to the TV people.

In the US it is easy to get a faecal blood test. My blood test showed my blood iron was going down. I had blood and the colonscopy was nothing except crapping for the day before. They just put me to sleep and when I woke up it was just like going to sleep at home. They do require someone to drive you home just to be safe. First one showed I had problems and the surgen cut out about 2 inches of colon. A year later the scope showed up 2 polyps and they were removed but show they were not cancer yet.
