O.T. HP laptop

A local big box store has an HP zd8120cl in as is condition for $627.00 Lowest price on the net I have found is $1158.00 HP Pavilion zd8120cl P4 630 3GHz 1GB 80GB DVD±R/RW 17" BriteView

56k/NIC/802.11bg/ WXP Home Edition SP2 They say the unit has a defective network card. I've looked at network cards and they seem to cost about $30.00. Does HP use compatible network cards? Any feedback on this computer?

It's probably integrated into the motherboard, so that would be a major malfunction. OTOH, maybe it's really something simple like the socket.

You could always use an additional PCMCIA or USB network card. Probably.

Suggestion you google zd8120cl review and consider the sources.

Dig around HP's site. They've got all kinds of docs for various systems, including stuff the common user wouldn't understand. ( - ;

Old computers are getting to be a lost art. Here at Uncreative Labs, we
still enjoy using the old computers. Sometimes we want to see how far a
particular system can go, other times we use a stock system to remind
ourselves of what we once had.
