First, I am not homophobic. As I stated in previous posts, I dated a bi-sexual woman for several months. I also had a doctor's appointment this morning. The technician who drew my blood was gay. I do not recall having any "phobia".
Secondly, most of the themes I am exploring now have already been explored by psychologists and sociologists. I might lack the ability to articulate them as a doctor would, but that does not make them untrue.
Thirdly, I am not concerned with people's sex lives. I certainly would not be interested in yours, for example, nor anyone else's in particular. What I *am* interested in is a potential correlation between levels of hormones in persons body, male or female, and their predispotion for certain modes of behavior. This, in my opinion, is of enormous importance and has repercussions accross and entire swath of social expectations. It actually has a religious aspect to it also.
It is irrational to proclaim that I am sexist or homophobic simply because I choose to explore what I perceive to be interesting characteristics of a certain group of people. There are professionals who do this already. They are called sociologists.
If I were to post a link to a document that corroborates some of my observations, would you automatically accuse the author as being homophobic or sexist? If I discuss the preponderance of Jews in the upper-echelons of academic, does that make me a racist? If I discuss the similarities between Judaism and Islam, does that make me a heathen?
Thank God, whichever god you believe in, that it is the year is 2006 and I can say what I want some degree of anonymity over the Internet. If the year were 1750, and I were a citizen in your village, I might be regarded as a witch for claiming that might be a method to making sparks fly from the fur of a cat by stroking it.
