Newbie Question Pressure Sensor + LEDs - LightSaber

Jan 31, 2007 2 Replies

This is my first post and I'm pretty new at this, so take it easy on me. :)

Need to hook up an impact/pressure senor to Multicolor LEDs. I need to be able display a particular color LED to it's corresponding impact/ pressure.

For example. If high impact is exerted a red LED will be lit if low impact is exerted a white LED would be lit.

Could any one point me in the right direction or maybe a rough mock up diagram. I'm also looking for anything that might implement such a design. The only things i can think of are the light up shoes (LA Gear Lights) or a LightSaber that flahses when it comes in contact with anything.

Any ideas will help. Thanks in advance.

I can only spare a short note at the moment.....

The Easy: Use a bunch of comparators. (Window comparator circuits or other.)

The Hard: (But easy if this isn't new..) Program a microcontroller with an internal A/D converter D from BC

I would prefer to go the easy way. How would one go about adding lets say an Accelerometer to the mix?
