Need help to try an experiment on transmission lines

I need a TDR or Network Analyzer measurement taken on a terminated PCB microstrip with a special test condition.



If you have the test equipment and the PCB striplines, microstrips, prefer a closely coupled pair; *and* want to try an experiment to prove feasibility of a proposed invention, please contact me.

Thank you for the offer. I couldn't find the spec sheet for that system at all! Could you give me a URL to get a copy?

Do you have any microstrip PCB at least 1 inch trace length? Probablly best to have the SMA mounted on its side, too.

I wish you had an HP Network Analyzer instead, but the Tektronix TDR setup may work.

Do you have any tightly coupled microstrip, or stripline PCB setups? May be able to use a spectrum analyzer with tracking generator option for that measurement. Want to drive T1 and terminate its end, terminate T2 and monitor its end to make the measurement.

The SD24 generates a fast step and samples both channels. You can use one channel for TDR and simultaneously see what comes out of a transmission line, what people call TDT. Net TDR risetime is a bit below 30 ps.

I have several microstrips with edge-launch SMAs on both ends, but no coupled lines.

If you have a coupled microstrip structure in mind, it should be feasible to carve some copperclad with a Dremel, solder on edge-launch SMAs, and test that. I can usually hit pretty close to a target impedance with a Dremel or an X-acto.

So if you hack up the pattern, I could test it and measure the impedances and all the port couplings, time domain. Somebody with a VNA could do the frequency domain.
