My new 24" monitor.

I am using two 19" monitors side by side getting 2x (1280 x 1024). Works great once you arrange your windows accordingly. However, some pop ups still appear in the screen center where the "joint" is, which is annoying... And sometimes I find myself rolling my chair to the left and to the right...

Same here, with ViewSonic monitors. PSpice Schematics on the left, PSpice Probe on the right. But I've had no such problem with pop-ups. I suspect you're set up for "extended screen" instead of two distinct windows. ...Jim Thompson

Yeah, I saw that one... inexpensive and essentially the limit of what you can pump out over single-channel DVI.

My little $129 Fujicam FinePix A210 has a live NTSC video output. Of course, I'd have to get an NTSC VCR and a mic, to make movies. I plugged it into my TV's "aux" input, and I was amazed. The pic was as high quality as the TV's capable of reproducing.

Display Port is the next big thing. Most new monitors and graphic cards support it.

My 19" CRT Viewsonic was only $179, and it was the top of the line model with the optical coating and high rate video board.

Well, I can't comment about your misfortune how ever, I've had good luck with the items i've gotten from Ebay. All items were as they claimed and still working.

Same with me, although I did *sell* a PC on eBay only to have the buyer come back and claim that it died six weeks later. Being a nice guy and not really needing the money, I refunded him, but I was kinda surprised that the guy even asked for a fix or refund that far out when the auction offered nothing more than a DOA guarantee.

Then again, I suppose he had nothing to lose in asking...

From the operating system point of view, all I have is a bigger screen. Some software launches its pop up just in the screen center, not in the center of the application window. I really would be glad to know a way to avoid this! BTW I am currently running ubuntu, but the same happened when I was using XP.

Right now I do have three monitors side by side. However, one of them is attached to a different PC!

That's what Al Gore has- three 30" Apple Cinema monitors. Very nice. Unfortunately, I think that means two video cards in a PC.

I have three now too. One isn't hooked to anything. One day I'll get my Linux system put back together. Maybe I'll get lucky and Linux will install (hopefully the new graphics card is more Linux friendly).

It wasn't that long ago that two 15" CRTs required two video cards. ;-)
