Mundane resistors out of stock, what's going on?

Glass all the way. You do see microwave on some cell tower backhauls but unless it's the Hooterville phone company, it will be glass.

Mine had a regular clutch and I never felt this to be an issue. I have never seen a 2CV with centrifugal clutch, I guess that was a marketing dud. My mom's DAF had a centrifugal clutch and that could be a pain. As it got older the clutch came on harder and then often ... poof ... a little ignition bang and the engine stopped.

You could obtain round ones. However, most likely the reflector will be dull or rusted and would have to go to a chrome plating ship first. Almost everything on the 2CV started to rust after a few years. You can also buy aftermarket chrome-plated plastic versions:

That is a much better option. The Lancia is a very nice car.

The centrifugal clutch was in series with a pedal-operated one. It was from the original design to simplify the start for non- experienced users. With only the pedal-operated one, there could be still more of kangaroo-fuel.

That sounds like an expensive proposition. Never seen it in all my cases I helped friends repair their 2CV. Maybe a marketing gimmick that fizzled?

Mine just had a pedal but I never experienced any bucking. The weak motor wasn't able to let the car lurch anyhow. I briefly had one with

23hp but that rusted out very fast. Then for about six years an older 16hp version until that one rusted out. Those cars were quite reliable, it's just that the corrosion protection was non-existent. A very common problem with French and Italian cars back then.
