I'm doing a bunch of boxes, in this same enclosure,

and I'd like to have all the boxes have an auxiliary connector, with a few analog and digital i/o's and such. I could use an ancient D9 connector, but it would use a lot of panel space.Is there a more modern, maybe circular, connector that is popular in industrial/embedded applications? Well, there are about a million but I was wondering is there is anything like a concensus of what's a good connector. Ideally there would be some standard cable assemblies, breakouts, things like that.
