Turns out that mail-in ballot fraud has a long and storied history. Who knew?

The article points out that people TRIED to corrupt the mail-in process but were found out and prosecuted.

How is this different than the Hanging Chads and the Diebold voting machine fraud issues in other elections?

Folks try to cheat and got caught.

Any system of voting has the potential for cheaters.

It is how you verify the vote that counts, and states know how to hold valid mail-in ballots. They do it all the time.

You Americans aren't a banana republic after all!

I would not say every system has potential for cheaters. Do away with voting and use anarchy so by definition everything you do is "fair".

How far from that are we now?
