LT1112?

I have to learn to use LT1112 in my present project. But there is still something confuse me after i have read the datasheet. Is the chip just an op-amp?Why they usually appear in pairs?Who can give me the answer? thanks in advance.

The LT1112 is two opamps in one package. The LT1114 is 4 similar opamps in one package.

Dual op-amps are probably the most popular configuration.

It saves space. You can get 2 op-amps in a DIL8 or SO-8 package ( for example ) instead of one.

A dual op-amp is also less expensive than 2 single op-amps ( savings on material ).
