Looking for SMD replacement for BD135 - 500mA NPN (SOT223)

I'm moving one of my old boards to SMD and I need a suitable NPN transistor (500mA, 1W, maybe 2W dissipation) in SOT223 package. What's the industry standard lowest cost for SMD for such devices nowadays?

Both noted, will look into them, thanks.

I know they're out there, I'm just wondering what the generic part, something like the 2n7002 for a small nfet, would be for this task.

I have used a few of the ON Semi MMJT9410, it's SOT223, but it's only

0.8 Watt, 30V, 3Amps.

If you have a little more room, I'd use the old standby, the MJD3055 in DPAK, 20 Watt, 60V, 10Amps. Of course you need a *lot* of copper around it to do anything like that.

2W may be too much for the package. How much board area can you dedicate to the footprint, and how much airflow will you have?

Anyway, I have no idea what the "industry standard lowest cost" is, but digikey shows quite a few SOT223's that seem to be able to handle 500 mA amd 1 W (depending on conditions). The unit price based on full-reel purchase is under 0.10 USD.

For example:

digikey part: PZT2222AT1OSTR-ND

This is the onsemi PZT2222AT1.
