IR Beaming Wavelength in Pocket PC

Nov 01, 2007 1 Replies

I am developing a device that will communicate with a Pocket PC IR port. What is the nominal wavelength for these ports? Most devices (IR LEDs and Photodiodes) fall into two broad categories: 880nm and 950nm. Which one is appropriate for the Pocket PC? There may be enough response to use either one, but I would rather be right in the middle of the filter passband than sitting on the side.
