Nonsense. Once it's at escape velocity, it's gone forever. ...not that that's a good idea.

Not true. Either is possible (or there wouldn't be any heavier elements) but the process requires energy.

Obviously, you do NOT know what you are talking about.

NOW you have PROVEN that you do not know what you are talking about. Elements "lighter" than iron can fuse giving off energy as its density increases (no particular order.. neon, hydrogen, carbon, helium, lithium, etc). Elements "heavier" than iron can fission giving off energy as its density decreases (no particular order.. thorium, plutonium, strontium, uranium, platinum, etc).

Obviously you have the same understanding of physics as does DimBulb.

No, you're showing that you don't even understand the basics.

Dummy, the key word in the above is "giving off energy". If you remove that qualification, you can certainly fuse heavier elements. That *is* how they're made (in a supernova).

Again, the dummy assumes that energy has to be "given off". It's certainly possible to add energy. I'm sure you've never heard of an endothermic reaction, either.

DimBulb? Is that you?

Well he does not realize that "escape velocity" means just that..the MINIMUM velocity. Escape velocity is the speed that an object needs to be traveling to break free of a planet or moon's gravity well, period; zero NET velocity inward or outward. Another way of saying that,is the imparted outward velocity exactly equals the inward velocity due to attraction via gravity.

So an observer "sees" the object "hanging" or circulating at some given altitude. ...but not long, as friction and other losses will cause the orbit to decay. Translation, the stated "forever"lasts for a relatively short time.

rely one manifestation of AlwaysWrong. Jamie is another, and krw seems to h ave aspirations to the title too.

I make judgements all the time - just like you do (except that mine are a b it better informed).

I'm not a judge - in the sense of having been selected to do the job - and my judgements here have exactly as much weight as the readers chose to give them.

So I'm not any kind of executioner either.

A pecker is useful for something, which seems to be a state you can only as pire to. Maybe someone will invent a Viagra for the intellect, which is som ething you could use. If any blood does flow through your brain, it won't b e losing much in the way of oxygen or nutrients on the way.
