If you don't think this is funny...

If you don't think this is funny you must be a leftist...

"Once upon a time, businesses roamed the land preying on the foolish and the poor. They sought to exploit holes in the free market to stack the deck against unwitting innocents, and were backed in this effort by a corrupt Congress chock-full of beneficiaries of big banks and deep-pocketed donors.

It was a dark time. And those dark times culminated in the economic

Then, a Daughter of the Plains arrived. Elizabeth Warren, a Native-American professor from Harvard Law School, climbed down from

that their time was over: now she would cleanse the system of such rot. Her chosen tool: the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. She lobbied Democrats to include the CFPB in their Dodd-Frank Act. It would be completely independent from both Congress and the executive branch, funded by Federal Reserve profits (so its budget could not be cut by Congress), and its director would be appointed for a non-revocable five-year term. This independent agency would make the world safe again for the little guy."

I don't think it's funny because I neither know nor care about your boring, boring, boring parochial shit. The real world is quite a bit bigger than your little world.

Cheers

It's what you learn, after you know it all, that counts.

There is a reason why I have Jim kill filed. Unlike most people in this group, the times when any part of Jim's threads are worth reading are few. Even the replies to his drivel are not much better normally as they are a bit like arguing with the air.

Jim's right, in my case. I can see that it is intended to be funny, but "a plate of cold omelets with crab meat" doesn't offer enough of what it takes to turn half-witted right-wing political comment into satire.

Unlike Jim, I know what political satire ought to look like - and Donald Tr ump hits all of the buttons without even trying, to an extent that moves hi m into the lampoon category - and this feeble attempt to be rude about Eliz abeth Warren's political initiative doesn't even get to first base.

So it's not the leftist aspect of my point of view that is being offended - it's the part that wrote university revue sketches when I was much younger (back around 1967). They weren't well-enough received to encourage me to w rite more, but those that did amuse the actors enough to get put in front o f the audience did get laughs, and I can recognise material that is merely trying to be funny, which Jim clearly can't.
