Mo has a cold, The Brat has a broken foot, it's foggy and drizzly outside, and I've delegated all the hard engineering stuff to minions. So I can help.

I think JT and Win should start the new year being polite to each other.

BTW, Merry Zarathosht Diso! (Thus spake Zarathustra...)

And, have a fun last day of Pancha Ganapati!

There comes a time in the life of every human when he or she must
decide to risk "his life, his fortune, and his sacred honor" on an
outcome dubious. Those who fail the challenge are merely overgrown
children, can never be anything else. Jill Boardman encountered her
personal challenge and accepted it
at 3:47 that afternoon.

Christmas DAY. We historically do our family celebration on Christmas Eve... instigated from years ago... a house full of little kids wanting to get up at dawn Christmas morning is difficult for us old folk.

Just removed... you've been quite civil recently ;-)

It's a beautiful 80°F day here... wind finally blew out the haze from a stationary high pressure.

Naomi and I are home alone. Naomi nursing what is apparently a nasty spider sting, finger swollen massively, treating with Cipro :-(

I'm agreeable.

I think I may be able to manage to be polite to Paul Burrige, but respectful? You've got to be kidding.

Unlikely. Christmas is Jim's peak posting season. He and I kept the group runnin' single (well, double) handedly one xmas 'bout 3 years ago. Merry Christmas, Jim; if I'm not currently in your kill file (again, again). ;-)

Jim and Win have fallen out? It must be politics! Let's have Rich Grise to adjudicate. :-)

And what am I supposed to be receiving that I'm not entitled to?

Think carefully before you answer, Paul - I'd just love to be entittled to coeelct healthy damages for libel from you.

That's fine, Bill. Respect has to be earned and shouldn't just be accorded. I wouldn't wish to be the recipient of anything I wasn't entitled to. Perhaps that's what differentiates us.

Kidding ... You never made any kids ... poor ole man. Oh you are that kid who dreams of growing up and becoming black and singing jazz at the nightclubs. Go to sleep.

That is an odd thing for you to say, since you only know me on this user-group, and here I spend a fair amount of my time answering questions about electronics, while I've not asked for help with an electronic problem for several years now.

You - despite your snooty posting - are a net consumer here, and repay the help you've got by spamming us with a deceitful ad plugging some hyper-specialised text-book that you are trying to get rid of on e-bay.

This doesn't quite fit with your holier-than-thou line.

Never mind, I googled the Jill Boardman part and figured it out:

Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein

It appears that my local library has it...

Thanks
