Here's How To Handle Junk Mail...

Aug 24, 2010 27 Replies

Its a bit of a chore remembering not to handle any junk mail without gloves and having something to spread tap water on the flaps of any envelopes that need licking.

Just tell a kid not to stuff anything in the envelope, seal it, or put it in the mailbox.

Someone should invent a mailbox that automatically shreds junk mail. Also political ads, and maybe certain bills you don't want to pay.

It would easy enough to construct one that relied upon your postman to separate your mail at the front door, but can you trust them not to drop important stuff into the shredder - like a paycheck, or a wedding announcement?

Maybe when computers get smart enough (if they aren't already), the mailbox could scan each mail piece, determine its relative value to the addressee, and either allow its delivery or shred it on the spot. When the debris pile got large enough, it could signal the composter to come get it for recycling.

For now though, it may be sufficient to webcam the address label, and if addressed to "Our friends at...." -- SHRED IT! :)

Well, gee, why would you think threatening someone by use of the mail would cause a fuss?

You can't even trust them to deliver your mail. I've had mail left at the wrong address, or never arrive.

Possibly, but do you rally want to invite one of those response teams to your neighbourhood?

Grant.

Most definitely AND a *VERY* stupid ting to do, as there ae ways to trace the source.. ..and then you will disappear off the face of the earth - more invisible than the Arab "detainees" at Gitmo.

Either cram as much paper into it as you can, or glue it to a brick before you mail it.
