HD Video Specs.?

Its difficult and time consuming for security installers to pull fragile Ca t5 and Cat6 Cable. Its even more difficult to get low cost labor to termina te the cable properly. Yet "RG6 Siamese" with the extra is cheap and easy to pull, and even easier to terminate. So I suspect this company wants thei r own digital standard, that works like NTSC on steel braided RG6.

So I suspect they want Jim to create a proprietary standard for them. Somet hing other then H.264, which seems to be the standard for "Internet Protoco l" cameras.

I just put 8 cameras into a large building, with 1800 feet of cable, and co nnectorizing the cheap cable is a PITA.

The standard Ethernet endpoints can't, either. That's why Ethernet-AVB was born. This adds the timing control, isochronous reservations, and all that.

Ethernet

in

maybe can't.

Wow.

Much of the current stuff i am seeing specified is PoE 100MB/s IP cameras with Keyable MPEG 3 live SD and 1 fps JPEG to the time lapse recorder. And that isn't even high end stuff. Casinos are already well through fitting out to full HD.
