Enjoy Tuesday evening...

Enjoy Tuesday evening, after voting with Woody Allen?s wisdom in mind: ?One path leads to despair and utter hopelessness. The other, to total extinction. Let us pray we have the wisdom to choose correctly.?

I've been voting since about 1968 and have successfully voted for the losing presidential candidate in all but one election. I suspect that my vote has a radically disproportionate effect on the outcome. Therefore, I'll be voting for the candidate that most deserves to lose.

Interesting. I've voted only for three losers, George H.W. Bush, Bob Dole, and McCain. ...Jim Thompson

Yes, but you got Lincoln right. ;-)

The only one that I got right was Barack Obama in 2008, mostly because I couldn't tolerate Sarah Paulin becoming president should John McCain die in office.

Oh, Jeff!

Mikek PS. I'll have to think about if, I ever what to send you dimensions of an antenna for you to spend hours and hours modeling and analyzing! :-) On the other hand, I might do it on purpose.

Well, there were also some other reasons. I don't want a fearless leader to tell me what to do. I want a government that does what I want it to do. Since that will never happen, I'll settle for a president that does as little as possible, on the assumption that doing nothing is better than the usual government sponsored ineptitude and waste. Also, expecting the government to supply solutions to problems that the government created does not sound like a good plan.

I was rather surprised and disgusted when the Affordable Care Act (which is neither affordable or careful, but certainly involved good acting), was bought, paid for, and passed. However, after the ACA, I was rather pleased by the general inactivity of the president. I won't call this a failure for my ability to vote for the losing candidate, but rather an accidental statistical anomaly which hopefully will not be repeated in subsequent elections.

Was that you who burned all my spare time for about a week trying to model that worthless MFJ stamped sheet metal 2.4GHz yagi? If so, please don't send me anything that interesting again.

Modeling an antenna is easy compared to modeling the surrounding environment and mounting structures. Since I don't have easy access to NEC4 software, please don't send me anything with radiating surfaces (i.e. patch antennas), as I can only easily do wire antennas.

Yep, that was me, and I thank you. It seemed there were many that found it interesting. It did show just how simple/poor an antenna can be and have useful performance. I used one on my boat for a couple of years. Just a simple stamping, shown here.

Correct, all the free loaders and illegals are hoping for nothing less!

We'll be in sandals, robs and dust blown streets with clay and mud structures, soon. Posters of the black savior being used as a dart board. Darts whittled from bones of the dead that didn't make the political transition, those that didn't get the memo!

Those that voted for him the first time, thinking they were going to get free gas, rent, cars will now have to pay back with interest, his interest that is, on support you never got!

However, I don't think you are going to like it!

The US people were not quite dumb enough to vote for Repugnicon presidential candidate Mitt RMoney and so create a Theocratic Plutocracy that only helps those worth a billion or more.

Obama 1 RMoney 0

BTW It was Wednesday morning over here 7am for his acceptance speech (which I have to say in fairness was mind numbing in its tediousness)

Obama at least represents someone that the ROW respects. He has done better job with the US economy than strict austerity would have.

It remains to be seen whether the various branches of the US government will actually govern or merely filibuster and prevaricate on everything.

Our UK right wing government has royally screwed up by following the sort of policies that you would like. The result is that they are losing tax income hand over fist as more and more people end up jobless. The latest to go under was high street retailer Comet last week. The only people making big money here at the moment are bankers (they never lose), lawyers and insolvency practitioners.

Interestingly although it is not done to take sides both political parties here endorsed Obama as they were both unimpressed with Romney after his pre-Olympic visit where he put foot in mouth at every turn.
