You can get an 0603 rated for 50 watts. I'm not sure how to mount it.
How about 800 watts surface mount?

It's too bad I lost the dozens of 4004 Intel CPUs I had. :( They were on PC boards with all of the support chips. They had been part of some early portable retail inventory terminals. Seven segment LEDs, and a shoulder carried digital cassette recorder. Someone had a truckload of them at a Dayton Hamfest in the mid '80s and was trying to sell the
300 baud modems out of the terminals for an insane price.

I like the way they "distressed" the reprinted markings. I have some original (sealed in plastic) M6800 chips and they don't look nearly as authentic.

I have been hanging on to a few old ceramic FPGAs for the last few years. Just now, one did an excellent job sharpening up a bunch of dull X-Actos.

4004 chips usually go for around $100 if they have the white ceramic bodies with the gold tops over the die. But, there are certain 4004 chips that actually go for much more:

Sure, but I bet it would quickly reach 150c mounted on a circuit board. At that point according to the derating curve, it will dissipate 0. How the hell would you keep it cool without getting too exotic?
It sure couldn't be mounted on a PC board. Even 100 watts would need to have some serious conductive cooling, to a baseplate of some sort. I don't know how you could use a part like that one, unless you put it into a flange package or something.
Wouldn't be surprised if they use Sears Watts like everyone else: nucleated boiling liquid (circulated, aerated freon) at 25C.
I heard a (possibly apocryphal) story, someone cut off the top of a 2N3055 and pointed a jet of oil directly at the exposed die. Supposedly got 800W dissipation before it burst into flames. The old 2N3055 die isn't too much bigger than that resistor.

Some sales sh**head couldn't understand that a 1% or less duty cycle = pulse rating is not a steady state rating. Kind of like many SMT power FET ratings.
