And I bet that if liberals initiated this ban the ACLU did absolutely nothing about it.

It is interesting to consider how far to the right someone would have to be to accuse the San Diego Port Authority or San Diego City Council of being liberal.
You did better than the "inventor" of the nuclear submarine.
As the story goes, a bunch of guys at Los Alamos were shooting the bull. The patent attorney was passing by. Richard Feynman said "there's lots of obvious things you can do with these nuclear reactors-- put one in a submarine, boil some water, run a turbine-- ziiip-- you have a submarine that can run almost forever! Put it in an airplane, you have a plane that can go anywhere without refueling.
The patent attorney went off but couldnt remember who said what. He goes back to Feynman and says "I think Fermi mentioned the submarine, you get the airplane patent-- sign here." He signed and for $1 he assigned the rights to the atomic airplane to the Govt. But he wanted his dollar! Really pissed off the lawyer as there was no budget for that. But Feynman insisted, the lawyer pulled a $1 bill out of his pocket, and thereby bought the atomic airplane for the Govt. Once others heard about this, they really annoyed the lawyer when they showed up for THEIR $1's.
Well, considering "liberal" was derived from "liberty", I don't find those kinds of laws very liberal at all.
Well, Hitler made Christianity the national religion, I guess today's anti-tobacco nazis are making antismokerism the national religion - they're following in such a great man's footsteps!
Good Luck! Rich
In Arizona, this would be a "moderate"
Who is moderately to the right of Atilla the Hun.
Maybe it was an improvement over the crap he usually smoked?
He didn't. Most of them aren't alive anymore but all the priests who have spent time in concentration camps for "excessive regime criticism" or whatever would tell you the real story.
That's why I said "if". Anyhow, some reading material:
If that doesn't sound a wee bit left of center then I know what does.
Naaah, that's _centrist_ in San Diego, and coming soon to a California town near you ;-)
...Jim Thompson
Not near us. Ah-nold got a whopping 75% out here in November.

Apparently he didn't. As synchronicity would dictate, there's a well researched article in this months Fortean Times, with a quote from the man himself as, "For the political leader the religious doctrines and institutions of his people must always remain inviolable; or else he has no right to be in politics but should become a reformer".
I'll have sympathy with the UK's politically correct, purer than pure, anti-smoker opportunists, as soon as they make some mention of vehicle exhausts. john
