I see as 2018 having only two possible outcomes... a sweep for Trump or a sweep for the left... no middle ground.
Since the electorate are predominantly village idiots who have no clue of history or what the Constitution actually says (or means), I think the latter will happen.

Nobody needs another Sheriff Joe Arpaio. The original is a racist who got convicted of doing his job badly, and was pardoned by Trump (who is naturally sympathetic to anybody who is doing his job badly).
With residents like Jim Thompson, an unsavoury creep like Sheriff Joe isn't actually necessary - Arizona is quite repulsive enough even without him.
