I know my limitations, usually :-)
Doesn't get hot, except if you want to charge fast _and_ power cycle the
1kV a lot. There's easy way to fix that, too.
Depends on the app. If stationary that can be perfectly ok.

I didnt say output short, you really need to improve your reading skills.
It would seem making things difficult, unworkable and expensive requires alot of engineering as well.
There are a lot of gadgets around that are "over engineered", but I think good engineering is, as Einstein said about good physics theories, as simple as possible but no simpler.
