I normally don't bother with things like warranties on phones or any other consumer item. They typically charge enough that you can buy a new one for what you pay in premiums over a couple of years. But for reasons I don't recall, I got the protection on my cell, likely because it was only $5 a month.
So as it turns out, after 4.5 years, I need a new one. The speaker seems to be blown. I'm told there's an $80 deductable!!! What crap! That has never been mentioned anywhere in the promotional literature. I suppose there's a 50 page document which talks about this and all the other gotchas.
At least they will cross ship a phone, so I don't have to wait weeks. I'm still on hold waiting to hear if they will forgive the deductible. What I'm worried about now, is that this phone is water tight, IP68. Turns out, I don't have to worry with that. Somehow, they have four year old phones in stock and are shipping the same model.
Oh, and they waived the $80 replacement fee.
