COTS GPS controlled Relay

Does this product exist commercially off-the-shelf:?

At least one SPST relay (or similar) that is controlled by GPS positioning. Preferably, an embedded microcontroller (i.e., no Windows O/S) that can acc= ept lat/lon coordinates (or perhaps contour lines) and then activate/deacti= vate a relay based on whether certain positioning criteria are met. Ideall= y, the lat/lon "instructions" could be loaded in via a Google Earth GUI, bu= t my present need will work fine with a precalculated flat file - like a *.= cvs file or similar.

I know I could build this with a PLC and a GPS module fairly quickly and/or= painlessly (maybe even including an SD memory card slot for updates), but = I'm a bit surprised this wheel isn't already invented. i.e., a generic GPS= switch. I tried the usual suspect Google search terms: GPS-controlled r= elay, Geo-fencing, etc... No luck.

Thanks!

Sure there is, what are you trying to blow up while you're on the other side of the globe?

Yes. See:

Using an SPST relay to initiate an explosive device is rather crude and not very reliable. A relay might be activated prematurely when dropped. It may also fail to activate if wet or dirty. A solid state switch is recommended for all terrorist applications.

You can probably do it with a iPhone or Android phone:

etc... Search for "GPS location alarm". Be sure to disable all alerts and reminders to prevent becoming a suicide bomber.

There are plenty of relay and solid state switch control boards available for both iPhone and Android:

The Wi-Fi and BlueGoof versions are especially useful for positioning the cell phone where it has a view of the sky, and positioning the explosive device where it will do the most damage.

For additional details, see:

If you recognize yourself among these photos:

you have a big problem.

It should be quite easy to program the BASIC Stamp to parse the NMEA sentence and evaluate the match condition.

Military "fuses" never use one criteria. You don't want to chance a glitch setting it off.

Even the IEDs used in the sandbox employed washing machine timers to make sure the person planting the IED didn't prematurely go to paradise.
