So I want to work on diagnosing the Monotron noise issue i mentioned in a post here a while back bit in my free time. I'd like to have something to probe points in the circuit and have my hands free while I look and listen on an amp and oscilloscope.
What kind of probe do you use to connect to those tiny little traces on a production board and hold it there while you do this?
A sewing needle works, its point helps stop it slipping. Bed of nails testbeds do use rather more advanced probes now, with a better rate of good connections, you coudl also use one of those.

I have a set of those micro SMD grabbers, they work well. I don't recall spending alot on them, but the prices are pretty high now.

Grabber hooks and pincer clips..
They come in all sorts, you can get them where the scope tip will plug directly into them,,
Maybe you should get a test set of micro clips with with hooks and pincers..
Even then, you may still have issues. I've had to tack on test point terminals. You can get those by the bags full. I like the loop hole ones in areas that aren't going to be R.F. friendly.
