Actually, the false (ideographic orientated) methods lasted just long enough to destroy the proven methods of phonics and phonetics. And the newbies are consistently bewildered by the problem of multiple linguistic roots which they are unaware of. Thus they cannot "reboot" to the tried and true.

If the teachers were competent, they wouldn't need a union. All a union is is a way to gang up on your employer (in this case, the taxpayers) to steal money that you're too lazy to actually _earn_.

We never were a democracy, we've been, since our inception, a representative republic.

Democracy is more like the town-meeting approach to government, which is why Obama is against town meetings... someone can dispute you face-to-face... in public ;-)

"Democracy" is tossed around too loosely. What we want everywhere is government run by representatives of the _people_... not dictators.

The exact definition of democracy requires a vote of the people for _every_ government action... not very convenient.

Why would I do that? I may not agree with some of your positions, but you haven't been rude and crude about your positions... like lots of the leftist weenies lurking here ;-)

You do not have to honor any contract either. This is a valid grievance against what you thought you were buying when you signed on. If this major chunk of your service get curtailed, you have a right to curtail your account, and not be held liable for a contractual breech.

In other words, you can claim that they breeched the contract by making a service change that was significant enough to render the service of no use to you.
