Damn, i am just not seeing why this is hard. Using just a standard adder / subtracter, three registers, some control logic, two 32-bit shifters you can do a single divide by 10 in 34 clocks, not much more than 1.3 microseconds per digit, not 1 horizontal retrace time but repeatable lots of time in almost any vertical cycle.
