AMD swallowed Xilinx - what now?

Intel put their name on the Altera data sheets. Altera started with a crappy web site organization and Intel didn't make it any better. Otherwise, I've seen no changes. I think Altera was a bit too large an acquisition for Intel to be willing to destroy it.

I expect Xilinx to be similar, AMD will have full access to integrating their FPGAs into AMD products. Otherwise, why would they mess with Xilinx? So expect the Xilinx data sheets to get funny looking with an AMD logo. That is going to take some getting used to. Maybe Xilinx will add bit slice 2901 logic to a future part?

I bought 1000 shares of Xilinx a bit over a year ago and it is now nearly doubled. Yea! I'm holding for a while to see if they continue the ramp up.

I use high performance (25 and 40Gb) network cards from a company xilinx acquired. There was no change to the products or service and support at all. It's good the product line is out of reach of Intel. Competition is good.

"Altera"? tobacco products have nothing to do with semis.
