There was a thread wanting to use a sound system as the ADC input.. I found this, if interested, I do think the circuit can be enhanced to get the input to work at the DC level.

It was JL who wanted it (it was thread drift), and the PCM2902 was my suggestion too. He didn't acknowledge.
It's the same chip used in the Behringer UCA-202 stereo audio dongle. Nice bit of kit, I've digitised a few of my old vinyl records with it.
