A nice new way to share files here, with Opera.unite!

If you download the new opera webbrowser from

formatting link
then you can share files on the internet with everybody, it has a build in server, that server caches via
formatting link
you need to register and set a password. You then get a web address, I got this:

You can make any folder public, and also protect it with a password if you want. So in fact it creates your own webserver!

Opera is available for almost every operating system now.

I can only recommend this browser.

This opera.unite feature can do a lot more too, it is sort of a solution for those of us who want to share pictures and diagrams.

Opera must be running for the files to be accessible though.

Well, yes, you can even serve any media file, but there is no password protection, so the whole world can see it. There also is a 'whiteboard', I was drawing some diagram in it, other visitors can also draw into it. But it seems busy on my net connection, so I disabled it. There is much more info on the opera site. The whiteboard may be useful but it is so slow.

? 1MB? I just transfered a 9.3 MB file! It is served from a folder on your PC (say directory), and only _passes_through_ the opera site. It is not very fast though. And it is of course not for people who already run a server, although it can be handy if you are elsewhere.

you want.

diagrams.

That is a bit of a strange requirement. There be something odd underneath the hood here.
