simulation errors by protel99

Hi,everybody. I always do some simulations before designing PCB.But one quesiont often occurs. Such as in the same circuit,if the value of a resistor is changed, there maybe a message:

COMFIRM Errors occured during simulation,Do you want to view the errors now?

If I pressed the "YES" button, there will be some more messages below: Note:Starting Gmin Stepping Note:One Successful Gmin Step Note:One Successful Gmin Step Note:One Successful Gmin Step Note:One Successful Gmin Step Warning:Gmin Step failed. Warning:Gmin Stepping failed. Note:One Successful source Step Note:One Successful source Step Note:One Successful source Step Note:One Successful source Step Note:One Successful source Step Note:One Successful source Step Note:One Successful source Step Note:One Successful source Step Note:One Successful source Step Note:One Successful source Step Note:One Successful source Step Note:Source stepping completed Note:Starting Gmin stepping Note:One successful Gmin step Warning:Gmin Step failed. Warning:Gmin Stepping failed. Did someone encounter such problems? What reason??

Thanks all.

The above are *status* messages. They simply tell you that spice was having a litle bit of a dificulty in converging to the answer. Gmin stepping and source stepping are just methods that are invoked to try and get a circuit to converge to an answer. If it actually converges then there is usually no error. If there is an actual error, the final message will be of the type "simulation failed", with the result that there will be no output data to view.
