Seems tp be a fairy common practice, Aus. was blocking NZ apples on a pretense that they could introduce fire blight a few years back.

David Brown isn't me. He lives in Norway and I live in Australia.

Probably not. You've been around for a while - counting your Eeyore period, quite a while - but you don't post anything worth reading, so why should a nybody pay any attention to you?

Nobody is proposing that the Americans alter it. It's perfectly obvious tha t it needs altering, but only the Americans can alter their own constitutio n, and all we can o point out is that they ought to, which isn't actually p roposing that they do it, rather merely observing that if they had any sens e they'd come up with the idea for themselves.

They get the same answer every time. If America makes a habit of fiddling w ith countries outside of America - and they certainly do - everybody else h as to keep a sharp on on what the Americans might do next (and they do). Am erican newspapers can get away with ignoring the rest of the world. The res t of the world has to watch America carefully.

and now lean over backwards to avoid the risk of making another such mistake.

The Australian apple growers would know which buttons to press to get that response ...

Many here feel the same way about you. You may not be Scandinavian, but you clearly have no justification for having any greater stake in the matters you post about... such as the London subway bomber!
