OT: HV tester probs..

I have greatly simplified the SPICE model of the tester, to see what can be done to get it stable. Included circuit is open loop and adjusted for (theoretical) DC stability at the preferred operating point. Note the AC gain/phase seems to look OK, but when closed (Vqq drives R1 instead of V2), it oscillates like crazy. How to fix?

Too many parts ;-)

What are you trying to do... suck out the ripple?

Is it safe yet to update LTspice?

I heard the last rev has a major barf in it.

I am "up to date" on Spice and i do not see ay opreational differences. Then again, i rarely use it.. Not to get rid of ripple, but to have a fairly constant but settable current thru the DUT. Original version had the 16.7K (or other chosen value) from DUT to ground, and the 1V there was compared to a reference for error feedback to drive stacked FETs. This scheme is to a) remove that 1V error in voltage measurement of the DUT and b) remove the changing BW as the sensing resistor changed.

I just had a breakthru on my current project, so I'm treating myself to a pause, a glass of wine and a better peak at your circuit ;-)

(1) I see absolutely no loop compensation ??

(2) The object is to simply set the current in the "DUT"?

(3) What range of currents and DUT resistances? ...Jim Thompson
