[OT?] Free 1.5 KW power supplies.

Have 3 new/unused file-server (HP?) power supplies. Label says +12V @ 130 Amp, +3.3V @ 5 Amp. Free - you pick them up, (North Passaic county, NJ, USA,) or I drop them at the local UPS store and you handle the details. (They are in their original shipping boxes.)

If you still have one, please count me in. I can email you a UPS label if that would help.

Thanks

Hi, Roberto:-

I'd love one of those if there is one left. I can call the UPS store and arrange shipping to 14303 if you give me their phone number.

Best regards, Spehro Pefhany

Roberto,

I received my supply and I thank you for doing this.

Has anyone found any technical information on these yet?

You will need a C19 IEC power cord. They will run on 120 to 240 volts and auto switch based on input.

They have an interface connector on the rear that most likely provides alarms and IO for load sharing.

I'll open it up later tonight and report any findings here.

When I bought them, (2011?) I found several manuals (installation, service, connector pinouts, etc.) in Intel's web sites.

I thought at the time there was enough info to trick them to work as a stand-alone bench PS.

I could not find anything today. (Searching for AHW6UPWR manuals or PDF, etc.)

Thanks so much for doing this, Roberto. Mine is on the way.

I found this document:

Which appears to have the PSU pinout on PDF page 65 (page 53).

That was a very good find Spehro. However, it is for the smaller server power supply.

On the same site is this file:

Starting at page 63 is the power supply Roberto has given us.

Have fun and be careful. This thing can start a car with no battery. I think it will require some minimum load, maybe 1 amp or so. Inside are a few adjustments. I hope there is a way to bring the 12 volts up the 13.6 or so.

Later guys,

tm
