Fluke Automotive Meter Help

Hi;

I want to purchase a fluke multimeter. I am not sure of the differences between the 88v and the 87v. I will be using it for automotive work mostly, but I sometimes do residential electrical as well. Are these meters true RMS? Any advice will be appreciated.

The 88V has an RPM function, and a millisecond pluse width thing for fuel injectors. However, it is not True RMS and has less basic accuracy. The 87V is True RMS, has a selectable filter, and is more accurate.

The 88V would be more suited to you, as both will easily do the electrical work.

Dave.
