On my linux box I use the ifconfig command to see what my IPs are..

alan@trmb:~$ sudo ifconfig

inet 192.168.1.65 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.1.255 inet6 fe80::fa0f:41ff:fee9:df2f prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x20 inet6 2001:569:faf1:7a00:fa0f:41ff:fee9:df2f prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x0

Websites like ipv6-test.com are handy too..

Okay, I'm a newbee ... and I have a quick question. I'm playing with Mystic BBS and I'm wondering how does one find their IPV6 address??

Just wondering...

Thanx, I did try to use the website and it never gave me anything. I did use the ifconfig command and I was given the info I needed...

Nope, it'd down by my feet.. ;)

... Software means never having to say you're finished.

Be aware that ifconfig won't (always) show you all of the IP addresses bound to a box.

Conversely "ip addr show" will.

Grant. . . . unix || die

Maybe your IPv6 address(es) are only link-local, not routeable over the internet?

Hey that's my printer's IP address, get your own.

Next you'll be telling me your PC is at 127.0.0.1!

Hey! I just dialed my phone number and got a busy signal!

/~\ cgibbs@kltpzyxm.invalid (Charlie Gibbs) \ / I'm really at ac.dekanfrus if you read it the right way. X Top-posted messages will probably be ignored. See RFC1855. / \ Fight low-contrast text in web pages! http://contrastrebellion.com

That's primitive!

When I dial my phone number the display tells me I have a new incoming call from me :-)

Owain

Here any phone not in actual use rings, not only here but anywhere in the world that a phone can get a 'net connection.

Cheers Dave.
