Walkman cassette repair

Sep 22, 2007 5 Replies

I have an old (1980's) Sony cassette walkman WM-FX43 that needs a new drive belt. Does anyone know the exact length of this belt. I measured the one I removed and is about 7.5" circumference, but it looks like it has stretched so I am not sure about the size. Also, is there a source for this?

Tnx

A slight correction - I "hadn't" looked at their site in a while - prior to making the reply post. I figured while I was suggesting, I may as well go ahead and post the link and any info I might find!

Here is a source. I have never purchased from this company, so buyer beware. If you browse around on the site, they tell you how to measure your old belt so that you purchase the correct size.

I've ordered from Studio Sound a few times over the years and never had any problems. I have some belts on order with them right now for a Walkman and a couple of VCRs. They're also a good source for VCR heads and aftermarket VCR parts. They have a $5 minimum order vs. $25 for MCM, and their shipping is a few $ less than MCM.

I can second that, I've ordered a number of times, never had any problems at all.

I have only ordered from MCM albeit a while ago. I had never heard of Studio Sound much less order from them. I'll keep their name in mind for future needs. Thanks for the new source!
