Shadow mask has moved, not repairable. Prolly was dropped.

Agreed, though sometimes they can be "repaired" by strategic gluing of small refrigerator magnets to the bell of the tube. It's an art more than a science though.

I've always thought that it would be fun to try that, but I've never came across a tv with a bent shadow mask.

Years ago I heard a tale of a backstreet bodgers solution to a Hitachi set with a loose shadowmask - apparently they noticed that the rainbow colours on the screen changed as they tipped the set on its side (it was in the days of oblong wooden cabinets) and became a normal picture when the set was turned completely upside down, their solution seems kind of obvious really - the took the tube out and re fitted it upside down, then slackened the scan yolk and twisted it back the right way up and wedged a strip of lino tile between the anode cap and PCB to stop it cracking over!!!
