"G": Gosh..... there is an awful lot of "basic" and simple troubleshooting and repair that can be done WITHOUT a service manual. Dust off your DMM and open'r up and perform some component testing and voltage measurements starting with the standby supply, raw B+ supply, regulation circuitry, flyback, HOT and flyback derived B+ supplies, etc, etc. Feel free to post the results of your inital troubleshooting and you may get some specific repair suggestions. If you are not certain how to do this then the service manual will be of little help... there are NO step by step troubleshooting procedures. The manual is of most use to experienced technicians attempting to repair a "tough dog" television fault.... most good shop techs usually fix 90% or more of "simple" faults WITHOUT the schematic or manual.
