Sylvania CK3000 Test Rig Question

Aug 21, 2005 2 Replies

I recently acquired a Sylvania CK3000 (chek-a-color) test rig (circa

1980, used in tv service shops to sub for a color CRT/yoke during testing/alignment) along with a bag of cables, plugs, extensions, & adaptors plus a sales brochure, no users' manual. The small sales brochure claims that the unit supports the old 21" round-tube color chassis' and the adaptors for hookup of the old 70-degree color tubes and yokes are present along with several YP (yoke program) and CL (convergence load) adaptors. I've determined approximately how to utilize the unit in servicing vintage color sets for collectors, but still haven't determined which YP and CL adaptors need to be used with the various chassis designs such as the old RCA CTC-7 thru CTC-16, Zenith 29JC20 thru 25NC33, Sylvania D-01, D-02, old Philco's and the Admiral 26UH6, etc. Anyone have a User's Manual for the CK3000? Anyone have a list of supported chassis' and which adaptors to use for each make/model?

John, I built my own jig way back when and I still have it. I remember I had to buy a matching transformer, made my own cables, and I'm sure I have some old setup manuals. I'll get back to you this weekend if it looks like what I have will answer your questions. That stuff is home and I'm not.

John, I sent an email but no response. I scanned my 1982 setup manual and put it up at
