Hi folks, Thought I had this problem sorted out a while back but apparently not. The three pieces of equipment are a Hitachi C2114T TV, a Mitsubishi HS-740V(B) video and a Panasonic DVD-S35 DVD player. I have a scart cable from the TV to the video and a scart cable from the video to the DVD. It used to be that when I wanted to watch a video I had to switch to channel 0 which was the channel I had tuned in for that purpose. Now when I insert a video and press play it shows on the screen no matter what channel I have on. No problem there then as this was how the DVD player worked when I had it connected directly to the TV via the scart lead. The problem now is that the DVD player will not work when connected through the video. If for example I'm watching BBC1 and I open the tray to insert a DVD, although the picture from BBC1 disappears the sound does not. Also the writing on the screen scrolls across the screen from bottom left to top right and there is a black bar across the centre of the screen which splits the writing. For example if I enter the set-up menu the top of the set-up screen appears at the bottom, and the bottom appears at the top with a wide black bar across the middle. If I connect the DVD player directly to the TV it works perfectly. Any idea what could be wrong here guys? Just a thought, but would I have any better luck going for a scart box connected into the TV and then Video and DVD connected directly into the box?
