Part ID: Q6 in Kenwood KTC-SR202 Sirius tuner

Hi all,

I just bought a used KTC-SR202 Sirius satellite tuner on eBay (I know...) and it is not working.

Examination of the board shows that Q6, a power transistor in the multiple-output switching power supply, is blown (visibly). Unfortunately, the missing epoxy makes it impossible to ID the transistor.

It's a surface-mount (2-7B2B case, I think) whose number starts with "K2" and has 2 or 3 more digits. That is, 2SK2?? or 2SK2???.

It's apparently an N-channel MOS device, and may be in a complementary configuration (haven't drawn the circuit out) with a 2SJ377 (a 60V, 0.16 ohm Rds P-ch).

I'm thinking that it could be something like a 2SK2231.

Also, there is evidence of an overheated diode D5, marked "T236". Don't know what this is, probably a Schottky with modest ratings.

Could anyone tell me what these two parts are?

Also, if anyone could send me the schematic, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Since I can get more of these for under $50 on eBay, I'm not inclined to spend too much time on this repair. And the blown transistor in the power supply doesn't make me feel too positive about the rest of the components on the board. But I would be willing to throw in a replacement transistor, at least.

Thanks, Ned Konz
