LG Flatron 795FT horizontal linearity problem

Feb 11, 2006 1 Replies

Hi! I've recently repaired an LG Flatron 795FT Plus monitor. I've replaced a mosfet which was in the horizontal linearity control circuit. This section is uP controlled, so there is the possibility to change the speed of the electon beam in discrete steps.

Now I have a problem with horizontal linearity: the image become larger on the right and left sides. The real problem is that there aren't linearity controls in the OSD menu, so I think I need the software used in the factory to correct the change in the parameters caused by the replaced mosfet...

Is there someone who can help me with this problem???

Thanks a lot. Bye. Marco

I would think more that you have some caps that drifted off value, rather than a setup problem. With age, the caps start to go high in ESR, and also drift out. Check all the caps in the power supply, scan amplifiers, and in the pin amp control. I am sure that you will find a number of them that drifted out.
