JVC Camcorder Viewfinder Problem

I have a JVC GR-AX800U. Everything works fine except the viewfinder indications quit showing. Is this a major or minor repair? Worth getting fixed or not? Thanks in advance for your help.

And can you pull up the menu? And if so, is there a display on/off entry in the menu? And what does the users manual say? What does JVC say?
