ripped off by ampwares.com

I ordered one hundred dollars worth of parts from ampwares.com and after a week I didnt receive my parts. I looked at my bank account and my bank account wasnt debited for the order. Thinking they might have missed something I emailed ampwares. com and told them that my bank account wasnt debited for the order and I havent received my parts. The next day my account was debited so I thought that they would send the parts. After a week I still didnt receive the parts so, I tried to call but they dont answer their phone and their voice mail is full. I emailed them again and told them that my account was debited but I didnt receive the parts. I havent received any reply after several emails and phone calls. I have now turned it over to the Pennsylvania attourney general, I am hoping they bring ampwares.com up on fraud charges. If you have been ripped off by ampwares.com go to

and file a complaint with the attourney general. If you havent ordered from ampwares.com dont. If you doubt me go to their website email them and see if you get a reply or phone them and see who you get.

Sometimes it can take about 10 to 20 days to get delivery. When you call in to a busy place, the service rep has to find your order and decipher what is going on with it. They are probably processing hundreds of orders per day.

I have ordered parts from all over, and had the same thing. The suppliers will take their money and also require confirmation that they are paid before they will even ship out, or place the order to their suppliers.

I have seen an order take about 30 days before I received it.

UPS ground is 5 business days or less from anywhere in the lower 48 to anywhere in the lower 58. From PA to most of the country it's only 3.

14 days to get an in-stock product out the door is completely absurd. Especially for small and mid-sized companies. (If buy.com can get a DVD player to my door in 3 days for free, any company should be able to ship just as fast, because there are few corporations on earth that have the number of different products, the global customer base, and order volume that buy.com does.)

If I hadn't received notice of shipping 14 days after ordering, and hadn't been able to contact a rep at the company, (AND ESPECIALLY if my account had already been debited)...I would certainly contact the BBB and my attorney general.

Just because some people are lazy and stupid doesn't mean the rest of us should have to suffer.

Of course, I would also *never* order from a website that looked like ampwares.com, ie. built in MS FrontPage by a 12 year old who has a penchant for garish colors, clip art GIFs, and blinking text.

That's not legal in some cases. Transferring funds before shipping violates the policies of all major credit cards and electronic payment services. Merchants are to perform an "authorization" to guarantee future payment, ship the product, then perform a "deposit" of their authorized amount. This two stage procedure makes sure that neither the merchant nor the customer looses money. Call your CC company and the problem will get fixed quickly. Merchants will be denied payment if they don't comply with the rules.

Not to mention this misspelling on the first page of the website:

"Orderes place using ..."

Sounds like he used a debit card or something. Not sure if the protections are the same as with a CC.

My experience and the maps in UPS shipping places that I see say a little longer to ship from Philadelphia to anywhere. Worst is parts of California other than near LA or SF, which is 6 business days. It takes 4 business days to get UPS Ground from Digi-Key (Thief River Falls, MN) to me. I often order 2-day shipping because of this.

When ordering for the first time, ask how long it normally takes them to ship. Most but not all places ship the same day/next day. It appears to me that some places ship weekly or biweekly, but sometimes some of these places will get your order out the next day if you ask or if you pay extra for more urgent shipping.
