I have to differ with the often-suggested light bulb as a load for these instances. The bulb must be rated to draw the desired amount of current at the nominal output voltage. In this case, 5VDC is the output that needs to be loaded. For a minimum load of 10 watts at 5V, that means that to get in the ballpark, the bulb would need to be rated at 6V, and just under 2 amps. Might be a little hard to find. (No, I haven't searched for a suitable bulb). Besides the bright light that it will produce, you still have the
10 watts of heat to deal with. In my opinion, a properly selected resistive load, mounted properly on a suitable heat sink is the way to go. Most likely, a 2.5 ohm 25W resistor will be easier to find, will be significantly less fragile, easier to mount, and likely cheaper than a light bulb, considering the additional cost of mounting hardware (you were going to suggest using a socket for the bulb, right?) and finding a suitable mounting location for the bulb.
