My Dyson DC04 vacuum cleaner (3 yrs old) has a loose connection at theswitch. (Moving the cable where it enters the housing givesintermittent operation.)I nearly blew a gasket myself on calling the UK Dyson HelpLine. I wastold "We cannot tell you how to get access...health/safety...have tobook our engineer ... 49 UKP (78 USD)" Plus VAT presumably. I'm darnedif I'm going to fork out £50 for tightening a connection ;-(So, can someone please tell me how to get access to the switch please?I've shown a picture here.I'm guessing I have to insert a blade or screwdriver somewhere, butI'm nervous about applying any force until I hear from someone withexperience please. Your arrows appear to be pointing to two different "seams" bymy reckoning. Note that some of the things that appear to beseams between different parts may actually be seams betweensloppy-fitting die when the piece was injection-moulded. Can'treally tell at this distance from a photo.Furthermore, there appear to be two more more distinct seamsjust to the left (by your photo) that could be where the assemblyactually separates. Look all the way up and down the handle.May be a screw at one end. Screw may even be covered withsome sort of trim piece.

Duh, there are 5 screws. I guess that would take too much effort. Personally I think some of the rules are a little odd.

I can remember many years ago that I bought a '61 Renault Dauphine manual from a company in the UK.
