The fromstat is the heart of it. The ovifutzer is important too. Once you understand how those work it all becomes clear.
I would have just suggested he pick a topic he could do a report on.
Chances are pretty good that he chose the topic since it just seems too obscure to be an assigned bit of homework. Yet surely it makes better sense to pick something you at least know something about.

Never underestimate the lengths marketing departments will go to, to make the Internet easier to use. An untapped resource of money there.
So easy, even a lazy student can use it. Especially ones with more money than brains.
