AVR-USB using ATMEGA8 8MHz

Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible to implement the usb firmware(avr usb) on 8MHz avr atmega8. I cannot get 16 MHz here. I am doing a project in my college and would like to know the reply as soon as possible.
