I would like to know, if anybody has already made experiances with communication between XILINX (Virtex) and MII (Medium Independent Interface ) ?? Does already exist a free VHDL CORE for this interface ? Where can I get it ?

You can plop down a standard MAC part or you can use a MAC core inside the FPGA. Try opencores.com- they have an open source MAC core. It uses a wishbone interface to the FPGA.
